This is the most common cause of red spots on the face.

Rosacea
Rosacea is a very common skin disease that affects the cheeks, chin, forehead and nose, and in some cases the eyes. It begins with what looks like a blush across the cheeks and then evolves to a rash of small red, puss-filled bumps on the skin. This is common in people between the ages of 30 and 60, with men having a tendancy for developing more severe symptoms. There is no diffinative cause for rosacea, but it is known that is occurs more in fair skinned people and in those people who blush more than others.
There is no cure for rosacea, but it can be treated using antibiotics. The antibiotics will help the bumps on your face after they've developed, and can help the red spots on your face. It is also advised to avoid too much sun, alcohol, hot drinks, and switch to a milder form of soap or face wash.

Rashes
Rashes can occur anywhere on the body, including the face. IF you have developed a rash, then odds are you had a simple reaction to something you put ontu your face. This could be the use of a new face wash, make-up, sun block or lotion. If you develop a rash and have recently changed something, immediately stop using it and see if the rash clears up. If you develop red spots on other parts of your body, then the rash may be more severe, and you should seek medical advice.

Sunburn
This may seem like common sense, but people tend to develop sunburn without even knowing it. Since very little exposure can burn the fair skinned, it may not even get noticed until it fully develops. Just use an aloe based lotion, and remember, even if the sun isn't out your should still wear sunblock if you are outside for extended periods of time.
