Lets first go over what a tendon is.  A tendon is the part of the muscle that connects to the bone.  The muscle tapers off at the end of it making the tendon.  Since the tendon is much more dense then the muscle it doesn't have as much elasticity as the muscle.  Since it can't move as much as the muscle it can actually tear slightly which cause inflammation on soreness.  The tears occur on a microscopic level most of the time due to repetitive movement or over exerting the muscle causing the tendon to tear a little bit.

 

Treatment for tendonitisSome of the more popular spots where tendonitis can effect you areas that you use the most so it will differ with each person.  These spots include, shoulder, biceps, wrist, elbow, knee, leg, ankle, hip, and other parts of the body.  The symptoms of tendonitis is normally stiffness, muscle ache, and swelling.  It normally hits during physical activity or directly after, and stiffness usually occurs the following day.
